Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is making a compelling case for national and international investment in the state, firmly assuring potential investors of a safe and secure environment for their ventures.
Speaking at the annual Public Affairs Forum of India meeting in New Delhi on September 19, 2025, Mr. Reddy extended a warm invitation to businesses, urging them to not only invest but also to become key brand ambassadors for Telangana, inspiring further economic inflow.
The Chief Minister highlighted the state government’s numerous investor-friendly initiatives. A significant step is the establishment of a dedicated Skills University. This institution is designed to equip young people with the specific abilities demanded by modern industries, ensuring graduates are globally competitive and readily employed through its industry-tailored courses. He emphasized the government’s commitment to creating lasting opportunities for future generations.
Recognizing Telangana’s landlocked geography, the government plans to establish vital connectivity between Future City and Machilipatnam port. They have submitted proposals to the Central Government for approval, seeking to develop a new greenfield expressway and a parallel railway line. This crucial infrastructure will significantly boost the state’s ability to export its products.
On December 9, Telangana is set to unveil its ambitious ‘Vision-2047’ document. This comprehensive plan will detail the government’s strategies for sustained and holistic development, categorizing the state into core urban, semi-urban, and rural zones. With over a crore residents in the core urban areas, efforts are underway to relocate polluting industries away from these centers, designating semi-urban regions as future manufacturing hubs.
The government is committed to significantly expanding its metro rail network, aiming to nearly double its current 70 km to an impressive 150 km. This expansion is designed to accommodate a projected daily ridership increase from five lakh to 15 lakh people, demonstrating a clear focus on enhancing urban mobility.
Beyond developing elevated corridors in key urban zones, Telangana is prioritizing the adoption of electric vehicles. The state has introduced various subsidies to promote EVs, with an ambitious target for them to dominate the roads by 2027. Additionally, plans include the rejuvenation of the Musi River, drawing inspiration from the Sabarmati riverfront project, and the construction of Bharat Future City – a net-zero urban center with direct connectivity to the airport.
Works on the Regional Ring Road are being expedited to meet the state’s developmental demands. Chief Minister Reddy emphasized that “political will is needed for effective governance.” He also highlighted the government’s strong stance against the drug menace, stating that Telangana has tackled the issue decisively and leads the nation in drug control efforts.
Furthermore, Telangana has established a new sports university. This initiative aims to cultivate an environment where young athletes can excel and compete in prestigious international events like the Olympics. Mr. Reddy expressed his surprise at the Olympic medal count of smaller nations like South Korea, underscoring Telangana’s ambition to boost India’s medal tally in future games through dedicated sports training.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Compares KCR to Donald Trump
During his address, Mr. Reddy drew a notable comparison between former U.S. President Donald Trump and K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the president of Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS) and former Chief Minister. He alluded to Trump’s public friendship with Prime Minister Narendra Modi while simultaneously implementing policies, like indiscriminate taxes, that could ultimately harm the United States. Reddy then declared, “There was a Trump in Telangana too. But, people have shown him the door,” suggesting a similar political fate for the former Chief Minister.
