Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has reaffirmed his government’s steadfast commitment to meticulously plan and develop the ‘Bharat Future City’ to truly global standards. The aim is to create a new urban center that will stand as a benchmark among the world’s leading cities.
Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Future City Development Authority (FCDA) building and a new Radial road to Amangal on Sunday, September 28, 2025, Mr. Reddy emphasized that the city possesses all the necessary attributes to achieve global recognition.
The Chief Minister also addressed concerns regarding the project, dismissing allegations that the development was being pursued for personal gain due to his purported land holdings in the area. He clarified that the upcoming Future City is dedicated to the long-term well-being of future generations, not for himself or his family.
He urged the public to cooperate with the government’s planned development, assuring that any minor issues would be resolved promptly and with liberal assistance. Mr. Reddy pledged his personal involvement in addressing problems and advised citizens not to fall prey to political maneuvering or resort to legal action unnecessarily.
Officials have been directed to swiftly resolve any public grievances, as the government is committed to ensuring justice for all stakeholders. The Chief Minister highlighted key features planned for the Future City, including underground power cables and a proposed greenfield highway that will connect the city directly to the Machilipatnam port.
Furthermore, plans include developing a dry port between Machilipatnam and the Future City, addressing Telangana’s landlocked status. The Central Government has also reportedly agreed to a proposal for a bullet train service linking Future City with Amaravati, the capital of neighboring Andhra Pradesh.
A primary objective behind this ambitious undertaking is to establish Future City as a preferred location for Fortune 500 companies. The FCDA building and the new Skill University are slated for completion by December, with the Chief Minister announcing that government operations will commence from Future City at least three times a month thereafter.
“I will personally host meetings with global investors interested in Telangana at the FCDA building. My ultimate goal is to attract worldwide attention and investment to Future City,” he stated. Reflecting on the region’s historical urban growth, Mr. Reddy noted how Hyderabad was founded by Quli Qutb Shah, followed by Secunderabad under the Nizams, and later the emergence of Cyberabad and Silicon Valley in the undivided state.
In a related directive, the Chief Minister instructed Deputy Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to allocate 10 acres for the corporate office of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited, with a mandate for its completion by December of the following year.
