Exciting news for Telangana! The state is set to receive four brand new Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs), bringing the total number of KVs in the region to 39. This significant development comes after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, gave its nod for the establishment of 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas across India’s Civil sector.
Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, recently announced this widespread expansion via a post on X (formerly Twitter). The initiative covers 17 States and Union Territories, with Telangana being a key beneficiary.
G. Kishan Reddy, a prominent BJP leader from Telangana and Union Coal and Mines Minister, highlighted the specific locations for these new educational institutions: Bhadradri Kothagudem headquarters, Mulugu headquarters, Jagtial (specifically in Jagtial Rural Mandal – Chelgal), and Wanaparthi (in Nagavaram Sivar).
Mr. Reddy emphasized that Kendriya Vidyalayas are designed to meet the academic needs of children whose parents are transferable Central Government employees, including defense and paramilitary personnel, by offering a standardized curriculum. He further noted the strategic importance of establishing KVs in Bhadradri Kothagudem and Mulugu, as these areas have been impacted by decades of Left Wing Extremism. Providing quality education here is seen as a crucial step towards upliftment, especially since Bhadradri Kothagudem is also recognized as an Aspirational District. Mr. Reddy also took the opportunity to mention the Union Government’s ongoing commitment to education in Telangana through programs like PM-SHRI Schools and Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan.
