Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has initiated a state-wide high alert across the administration in anticipation of heavy rainfall over the next two days.
Officials have received clear directives to vigilantly track the developing flood situation, as forecasts predict heavy to very heavy precipitation. District collectors, in particular, are instructed to assess and proactively manage flood risks within their respective vulnerable regions.
A critical measure includes the preemptive evacuation of residents from low-lying areas, ensuring they are safely relocated to designated relief camps. Furthermore, authorities are mandated to halt traffic on inundated roads and conduct thorough inspections of all causeways.
The Chief Minister also directed the Electricity Department to implement special protocols to maintain an uninterrupted power supply and to promptly remove any hazardous hanging wires. Even during the upcoming Dasara holidays, educational institutions are advised to remain on high alert.
The public is strongly urged to avoid leaving their homes during periods of intense rainfall. In Hyderabad, specialized teams from the GHMC, HYDRAA, NDRF, and SDRF have been put on standby for rapid response and emergency operations.
