Telangana’s Health Minister, C. Damodar Raja Narasimha, has issued unequivocal directives to health officials, asserting that the forthcoming Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS) hospitals in Sanathnagar, LB Nagar, and Alwal must operate at par with the nation’s leading corporate hospitals.
Highlighting the critical importance of both impeccable cleanliness and exceptional patient care, the Minister urged these new institutions to meticulously adopt the proven best practices and management models from esteemed hospitals such as AIG, Apollo, Yashoda, Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bibinagar. These instructions were delivered during a pivotal review meeting focused on the final preparations for the inauguration of the Sanathnagar TIMS. During the session, senior health officials, who had already undertaken comprehensive studies of prominent hospitals’ operational policies, presented a detailed report to the Minister.
Minister Narasimha further called for the implementation of a sophisticated governance model for TIMS, drawing inspiration from the autonomous and efficient structure of NIMS. This proposed framework necessitates a clear delineation of responsibilities across clinical services, administrative functions, and academic departments. Each wing would be independently overseen by a dedicated medical director, medical superintendent, and chief operating officer. He underscored the necessity of establishing a detailed job chart for all roles, thereby ensuring uncompromising accountability throughout the new TIMS hospital system.
