In a significant development from Hyderabad, the Telangana government has formally issued a strong notice to Rajanna-Sircilla District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha. This action comes after a serious ‘protocol violation’ during the official Praja Palana Day celebrations held on September 17.
Authorities have expressed considerable displeasure regarding the Collector’s apparent failure to adhere to established official norms during the crucial public event, which was attended by Government Whip Adi Srinivas.
Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao dispatched the formal notice to Collector Jha on Thursday, demanding a comprehensive explanation by 3 p.m. on Monday. Insiders suggest that the government intends to meticulously review the Collector’s response before determining any subsequent disciplinary measures.
The controversy stems from the Praja Palana Day celebrations in Rajanna Sircilla, where the Collector reportedly arrived considerably late, long after the Chief Guest, Mr. Adi Srinivas, had already arrived. This alleged disregard for official procedures, particularly the expectation for the Collector to be present early to formally receive Mr. Adi Srinivas, was perceived by the Government Whip not only as a breach of protocol but also as a direct insult to the sanctity of an event that included the hoisting of the national flag.
Sources further indicate that Mr. Adi Srinivas officially lodged a complaint with both the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and the Chief Secretary, urging swift and decisive action against the Collector for what he considered a profound display of disrespect.
