Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy departed for New Delhi on Thursday evening, commencing a high-impact visit. His agenda for Friday is packed with strategic meetings with prominent business leaders and key diplomats, all focused on attracting significant investments and championing the vision of ‘Telangana Rising’ on a national and international stage.
The Chief Minister faces a demanding day in the capital, filled with a series of important engagements. His morning begins with a notable meeting with New Jersey Governor Philip D. Murphy at a private hotel. Their discussion will center on identifying promising avenues for investments within Telangana.
During this interaction, he plans to highlight the significant contributions of the Telugu diaspora to the economic prosperity of the United States. Furthermore, the Telangana government aims to forge stronger connections between the USA and Telangana, showcasing the diverse business opportunities available to American companies. Following this, he is slated to deliver a key address at the annual forum of a leading media organization.
The Chief Minister has also arranged individual meetings with high-ranking executives from global giants like Amazon, Carlsberg, Carlyle, Godrej, and Uber. These discussions will specifically explore potential investment opportunities within Telangana. Officials traveling with the Chief Minister expressed optimism that these meetings would secure approvals for the expansion of these companies, many of whom already have a significant presence in Hyderabad.
Another significant appointment on his itinerary is a meeting with Borge Brende, CEO of the World Economic Forum (WEF). This follows Mr. Reddy’s participation in the WEF meeting in Davos in January, where he actively sought investments for Telangana from global business leaders. Mr. Brende is a well-known advocate for India’s economic potential, having previously stated that with continued reforms, India could significantly increase its growth rate from 6% to an impressive 7-8%.
Additionally, the Chief Minister plans to engage with Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manoharlal Khattar. This meeting will be crucial for discussing and securing Central government support for various urban development projects currently underway in Telangana. Chief Minister Reddy is expected to conclude his busy day and return to Hyderabad by evening.
