Severe Weather Warning for Telangana on September 26
Residents across Telangana are advised to prepare for significant rainfall on Friday, September 26, 2025, as nearly half of the state’s 33 districts are expected to experience heavy to very heavy downpours. In addition, 18 other districts are under a yellow alert for heavy rain.
Orange Alert: Heavy to Very Heavy Rainfall Forecast
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) released a weather bulletin on Thursday, issuing an ‘orange alert’ for 15 districts. These areas are predicted to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated locations. The districts under this higher alert include:

- Jagtial
- Rajanna Sircilla
- Jayashankar Bhupalpally
- Mulugu
- Mahabubabad
- Warangal
- Vikarabad
- Sangareddy
- Medak
- Kamareddy
- Mahabubnagar
- Nagarkurnool
- Wanaparthy
Yellow Alert: Heavy Rain Expected
Furthermore, an additional 18 districts have been placed under a ‘yellow alert,’ indicating a forecast for heavy rainfall. These districts are:
- Adilabad
- Kumaram Bheem Asifabad
- Mancherial
- Karimnagar
- Peddapalli
- Bhadradri Kothagudem
- Khammam
- Nalgonda
- Suryapet
- Hanumakonda
- Jangaon
- Siddipet
- Yadadri Bhuvanagiri
- Rangareddy
- Hyderabad
- Medchal-Malkajgiri
- Narayanpet
- Jogulamba Gadwal
The IMD bulletin also warns of isolated thunderstorms across all districts of Telangana, which are likely to be accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, potentially reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph. Residents in all affected areas should exercise caution and take necessary precautions.
