In a fiery press conference held in Hyderabad, the Telangana unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unleashed a comprehensive chargesheet against the state’s Congress government. BJP State President N. Ramchander Rao declared that the Congress’s iconic ‘hand’ symbol, traditionally seen as a sign of assurance (Abhaya Hastham), had transformed into a ‘Bhasmasura Hastham,’ or a ‘hand of destruction,’ over its 23-month tenure.
Rao asserted that the Congress regime had proven to be detrimental, particularly emphasizing its failure to deliver on the 420 promises outlined in its 60-page manifesto before the 2023 elections. He pointed out that despite pledges to implement six key guarantees within 100 days of taking office, a thousand days had now passed with none of these commitments being fulfilled.
The BJP leader highlighted several critical areas where the Congress government allegedly faltered. Students, he noted, were grappling with delays in free fee-reimbursements, while the vital Aarogyasri healthcare services were suffering due to significant outstanding arrears owed to hospitals. Farmers, too, were reportedly in a dire state, still awaiting the promised loan waivers.
Ramchander Rao also strongly condemned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s recent statements concerning national honor, the sacrifices of soldiers, and national security. He labeled these remarks as ‘unfortunate and irresponsible,’ arguing that such comments deeply wounded the sentiments and pride of the people of Telangana.
