Tejashwi Yadav, the Chief Ministerial candidate for the Mahagathbandhan, has sharply criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA, alleging that the alliance exploits Bihar for votes while prioritizing industrial development in Gujarat, effectively keeping Bihar “captive.” Yadav emphasized that the upcoming 2025 Bihar Elections present a crucial opportunity for the state’s residents to remove the NDA government from power and secure progress.
“Political parties exploit Bihar for votes and establish industries in Gujarat, keeping Bihar captive. This election, people have an opportunity to drive them out for the state’s progress. I appeal to the citizens of Bihar to unite and prevent these parties from returning to power,” Yadav stated to reporters.
Furthermore, Yadav accused the government of attempting to influence voters by distributing money to ten lakh women, referencing the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Scheme. He questioned the Election Commission’s oversight in allowing such practices so close to an election.
Earlier, Yadav had directly challenged Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks regarding land scarcity in Bihar hindering industrial growth. Yadav asserted that the NDA’s focus is not on Bihar’s development but rather on “capturing” the state. He argued, “Amit Shah has said that industries cannot be set up in Bihar because there is a shortage of land. We have never seen a Home Minister who talks about a lack of land as a reason. This shows that their intention is not to develop Bihar; their goal is to capture Bihar, not to move it forward. They don’t want to establish factories or create jobs; they just want to take control of the state.”
The Bihar assembly elections are scheduled to take place in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
