The Tamil Nadu Government Officials Union has formally called upon Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to approve a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) for all state government employees. This proposed adjustment would elevate the DA from the current 55% to 58% of their basic pay.
In a detailed letter addressed to Chief Minister Stalin, union State president T. Amirthakumar highlighted that the Central government had already sanctioned a similar 3% DA hike. Amirthakumar passionately urged the Chief Minister to extend this benefit to Tamil Nadu’s government employees, teachers, pensioners, family pensioners, special time scale pay employees, and those receiving consolidated pay, effective July 1, 2025.
Mr. Amirthakumar emphasized the positive impact such an immediate increase would have, stating that it would significantly boost the morale of government employees, motivating them to perform better. He also noted that implementing the hike promptly would be particularly beneficial for employees during the upcoming Deepavali festive season.
