The district conference of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) wrapped up on Saturday evening with an impressive “White Guard” rally, culminating in a significant public gathering. During the inauguration of this public meeting, IUML State president Syed Sadikali Shihab Thangal delivered a stark warning. He highlighted the severe predicament Kerala currently faces, where societal relationships are being cynically manipulated for political advantage.
Thangal powerfully underscored the importance of peaceful coexistence between majority and minority communities, cautioning against allowing distrust to cloud this essential harmony. He stated, “Such exploitation goes against the very fabric of Kerala’s cherished traditions.”
He further elaborated, “The United Democratic Front (UDF) has always championed this ideal, tirelessly advocating for the rights and interests of all segments of society. A tranquil and cooperative atmosphere is absolutely vital for the foundation of a robust nation.”
According to the IUML leader, a key challenge for Kerala today is the absence of resolute leadership. He urged that “the government and its leaders must not isolate themselves from the populace.” For Kerala to truly overcome its current difficulties, Thangal asserted, “the United Democratic Front must regain its position of power.”
The event also featured a compelling keynote address by IUML national general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty. The proceedings were chaired by Marakkar Marayamangalam, the party’s district president, with T.A. Siddique, the general secretary, extending a warm welcome to all attendees.
Among the other prominent speakers who addressed the gathering were IUML State general secretary P.M.A. Salam, Tamil Nadu State general secretary Aboobacker, and Muslim Youth League general secretary P.K. Firos.
