NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule didn’t mince words on Sunday, labeling Shiv Sena leader Ramdas Kadam’s recent comments about Bal Thackeray’s death as utterly “disgusting.”
Kadam had ignited a major controversy during a Dussehra rally earlier in the week by making shocking allegations. He claimed that the Shiv Sena founder’s body was held at Matoshree, the Thackeray family’s residence in Bandra, for two days before his death was officially announced in 2012. Furthermore, Kadam sensationally alleged that Bal Thackeray’s fingerprints were also taken during this period.
Bal Thackeray, a towering figure in Maharashtra politics, passed away on November 17, 2012, at the age of 86.
Speaking to reporters, Ms. Sule expressed her outrage, stating, “Never has such abhorrent language been used when speaking about political opponents. This kind of rhetoric must cease immediately.”
Unsurprisingly, Kadam’s explosive remarks have been met with fierce condemnation from leaders of the rival Shiv Sena (UBT) faction. They didn’t hold back, publicly denouncing him as a “gaddar” (traitor) and a “namak haram” (disloyal person), highlighting the deep divisions and intense emotions within the state’s political landscape.
