Friday morning at the Bengaluru racecourse witnessed an impressive display of talent as horses underwent their rigorous exercise routines. Among them, Sunshine and Mahler particularly stood out with their pleasing performances, signaling strong prospects for future events.
Inner Sand Work:
600m: Rieko, guided by jockey Akshay, demonstrated good athleticism, completing the distance in a brisk 40 seconds. The horse moved exceptionally well, indicating readiness and sharp form.
Outer Sand Work:
600m: Siege Courageous, under B. Harish, covered the 600m effortlessly in 46 seconds. The workout was smooth and easy, suggesting the horse is in comfortable condition.
1400m: Several horses took to the 1400m track. Sir Winston, with his rider (rb), eased up after clocking 1 minute 43.5 seconds, with the last 600m timed at 54 seconds. Mahler, ridden by Akshay, delivered a particularly fluent performance, finishing the 1400m in 1 minute 41 seconds. His intermediate timings were 1 minute 26.5 seconds for 1200m, 1 minute 12 seconds for 1000m, and a sharp 43.5 seconds for the final 600m. Whirlwind, with Hindu S aboard, also showed excellent trim, completing the 1400m in 1 minute 45 seconds (1200m in 1:30, 1000m in 1:15.5, 600m in 45). In a compelling joint exercise, Sunshine (Pavan) and Victor Hugo (Rozario) clocked 1 minute 41 seconds for 1400m (1200m in 1:26, 1000m in 1:12, 600m in 43). Notably, Sunshine, who began two lengths behind Victor Hugo, powered ahead to finish a remarkable three lengths clear, underscoring exceptional pace and endurance.
