In a significant crackdown on illicit narcotics, police operating near the Cochin International Airport in Nedumbassery have successfully intercepted a large shipment of suspected MDMA. Officers seized a staggering 400 grams of the synthetic drug from a 21-year-old student named Sivasankar, a resident of Kayamkulam.
Sivasankar was apprehended by a joint team from Nedumbassery police and the Ernakulam rural anti-narcotics squad. Authorities believe he was awaiting clients to distribute the illegal substance. The suspected MDMA was cleverly hidden in three separate packets on his motorcycle.
The confiscated drugs carry an estimated street value exceeding ₹10 lakh. Police officials, in a recent statement, indicated that Sivasankar’s arrest suggests he is part of a much broader and more organized drug trafficking operation, prompting further investigation into the network.
