As Deepavali, the vibrant festival of lights, draws near, the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) Limited in Mysuru is urging everyone to prioritize electrical safety. The festive season often sees homes and shops adorned with beautiful electric lights, making it even more important to be mindful of potential hazards.
CESC advises the public to always keep serial lights and other electrical wires away from water sources. It’s crucial to avoid overloading plug points, as this can easily lead to dangerous short circuits. Additionally, ensure that traditional lamps and diyas are placed at a safe distance from all electrical cables, wires, and plug points.
When it comes to firecrackers, caution is paramount. Residents are urged to steer clear of electric poles and transformers when lighting crackers. Maintaining a safe distance from these electrical installations is vital to prevent accidents.
For the safety of children, CESC emphasizes that they should be kept away from electrical appliances. Any activities involving lighting diyas or bursting crackers should always be conducted under strict adult supervision.
K.M. Munigopal Raju, Managing Director of CESC, has appealed to the community to diligently follow these safety guidelines. In the event of any electrical issues or mishaps, the public is encouraged to contact the customer care helpline at 1912 immediately.
