A host of promising racehorses showcased their prowess during Monday morning’s exercises in Bengaluru (September 15), with several names turning heads and impressing onlookers with their speed and stamina.
Inner Sand Track Highlights:
600m: Bezawada Sultan, expertly ridden by J. Chinoy, clocked an excellent 40 seconds, appearing in impeccable condition and ready for the track.
1000m: Shamrock, guided by Suraj, completed its run in 1 minute and 6.5 seconds. Its final 600m split of 39.5 seconds was particularly pleasing, indicating strong form and readiness.
Outer Sand Track Highlights:
600m: This distance saw a flurry of strong performances. Pledge, with R. Pradeep aboard, was notably impressive with a swift time of 41.5 seconds. Tefillah, also under R. Pradeep, looked sharp and in fine shape, finishing in 42 seconds. A Star Is Born (Kiran Rai) moved competently, recording 43.5 seconds, a time matched by both Razzmatazz (Kiran Rai) and Lightning Blitz (Darshan), who finished perfectly level.
1000m: The mile saw several horses deliver notable displays. Assurances and Blind Faith (Siddaraju) both showed impressive strides, clocking 1 minute 12.5 seconds, with their final 600m in a brisk 42 seconds. Double Scotch (rb) moved effortlessly and comfortably, completing the distance in 1 minute 16 seconds (600m in 46.5s). In a competitive pairing, Ashwa Kali Bhani (Suraj) and Gloriousness (Darshan) finished side-by-side in 1 minute 15 seconds (600m in 43s), with Gloriousness impressively making up a two-length deficit. Totally Epic (Siddaraju) and Star Studded (Suraj) also shaped up well, recording 1 minute 15.5 seconds (600m in 44.5s). However, the standout performances came from Adornment (Chatan K) with a quick 1 minute 14.5 seconds (600m in 42s), clearly marking it as ‘one to note’ for upcoming events, and Casteel (Suraj), which moved with remarkable fluency in 1 minute 12.5 seconds (600m in 43s). Multisided (rb) moved freely in 1 minute 13 seconds (600m in 43.5s), and Palma (Chetan K) finished well in 1 minute 14 seconds (600m in 44s).
1200m: Over this longer distance, Imperial Star (Kiran Rai) demonstrated fine form with a time of 1 minute 30 seconds (1000m in 1:13, 600m in 43.5s). Touch Of Grey (Suraj) moved comfortably, clocking 1 minute 27.5 seconds (1000m in 1:14, 600m in 43.5s). Valiant Stream (Indrajeet) showed good work, finishing in 1 minute 30 seconds (1000m in 1:14.5, 600m in 44.5s). Mayne Magic (Antony) was in excellent condition, posting a strong 1 minute 45.5 seconds (1200m in 1:27.5, 1000m in 1:11, 600m in 41.5s). Lex Luthor (Antony) strode out powerfully over a longer stretch, clocking 1 minute 46 seconds for its 1400-600m sprint in 59 seconds.
1600m: In the longest distance observed, Unforgettable Star (Suraj) and Verrazzano (Darshan) had an interesting session. Unforgettable Star started three lengths behind but finished a commanding five lengths ahead, demonstrating significant strength and stamina over the 1 minute 57 seconds distance (1400m in 1:41.5, 1200m in 1:26.5, 1000m in 1:11, 600m in 43s).
