Pune’s racing scene was buzzing with activity this Thursday morning, September 18th, as several top thoroughbreds showcased their prowess on the inner sand track. Among the most impressive performers were Bee Magical, Johnny Mac, Darcy, and Merchant Of Venice, each demonstrating excellent form and readiness for upcoming events.
Inner Sand Workouts – September 18th
600m: The shorter sprints saw promising displays. Between Friends, under P. Dhebe, moved freely, clocking 39 seconds. Dreamer, guided by Parmar, also ran fluently in 39 seconds. Divine Intuition had an easy run at 42 seconds. Esperanza, with Ramswarup, moved particularly well, recording a swift 37 seconds, while Talking Point, ridden by P. Vikram, maintained a free-moving pace at 38 seconds.
800m: Moving up in distance, Midnight Express (Ranjane) impressed with a fluent run of 52 seconds, covering the last 600m in 39. Kavya, partnered with Parmar, pleased onlookers with a 51-second gallop, finishing its last 600m in 37. Viennoise (T.S. Jodha) and Agatha (Omkar) worked together, leveling out at 57 seconds (42 for the last 600m). Disciplined (Ramswarup) moved attractively at 52 seconds (37 for 600m). Elusive Art (Nirmal) worked well, completing in 53 seconds (38 for 600m). Money Bags (M. Naveen) took it easy at 57 seconds (43 for 600m). Ashwa Gypsy (Gore) moved nicely, clocking 51 seconds (37 for 600m). Aperol (Nirmal) showed fluency at 53 seconds (38 for 600m), and Chagall (A. 1000m: Over the thousand-meter mark, Merchant Of Venice (Ramswarup) pleased with a strong showing, completing the distance in 1 minute 5 seconds (51 for 800m, 38 for 600m). Coin Empress had an easy run at 1 minute 12 seconds (43 for 600m). Conjurer (P. Dhebe) performed well with a good work of 1 minute 6 seconds (52 for 800m, 40 for 600m). Crystal Clear (Neeraj) and Arlington Heights (Mosin) moved neck and neck freely, clocking 1 minute 6 seconds (52 for 800m, 38 for 600m). Absolute Gorgeous (Pranil) worked well at 1 minute 7 seconds (52 for 800m, 39 for 600m). Ekatarina (Hamir) and Lara (S. Amit) also moved level freely in 1 minute 5 seconds (51 for 800m, 38 for 600m). 1200m: Matisse (Pranil) had an easy workout over 1200 meters, completing in 1 minute 27 seconds (43 for 600m). Bee Magical (Neeraj) started three lengths behind Pride’s Prince (C.S. Jodha) but easily finished level on the inside, showing great power, clocking 1 minute 19 seconds (1 minute 5 seconds for 1000m, 50 for 800m, 38 for 600m) while Pride’s Prince was pushed. Riptide (C.S. Jodha) and Bright Button (Neeraj) moved together freely at 1 minute 25 seconds (55 for 800m, 41 for 600m).
1800m: For the longest distance, Duke Of Tuscany (Kirtish) and Arkadian (Vivek G) moved freely over 1800 meters, recording 2 minutes 6 seconds (1 minute 51 seconds for 1600m, 1 minute 36 seconds for 1400m, 1 minute 21 seconds for 1200m, 1 minute 6 seconds for 1000m, 51 for 800m, 38 for 600m). 800m: Looking back at Wednesday’s exercises, Foujita (Nazil) moved fluently at 54 seconds (39 for 600m). Giant Gold (Aditya) showed good form with a 53-second run (40 for 600m), while Mirae (apprentice rider) was urged to finish in 53 seconds (40 for 600m).
1000m: Over 1000 meters, Yuletide (Umesh) moved well, clocking 1 minute 6 seconds (51 for 800m, 39 for 600m). Coeur De Lion (apprentice) finished two lengths ahead of Magical Moments (Umesh) as they ran in 1 minute 9 seconds (53 for 800m, 39 for 600m). Doctor Dolly (Umesh) was urged in the final part, completing in 1 minute 6 seconds (52 for 800m, 39 for 600m).
Gate Practice – Inner Sand (September 17th)
