Get ready for a spectacular Dasara celebration in Srirangapatna! A revered five-day ‘Cauvery Aarti’ ceremony is set to take place at the iconic Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) reservoir near Mysuru, running from September 26 to 30.
Srirangapatna MLA Ramesh Bandisidde Gowda, who also chairs the Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), shared these exciting details with reporters. He confirmed that the symbolic aarti will be complemented by a host of other vibrant cultural programs, all part of the eagerly anticipated Dasara festival.
The auspicious aarti ceremony will be inaugurated on September 26 by Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who also holds the Water Resources portfolio. He will be joined by N. Cheluvarayaswamy, the Minister in charge of Mandya district.
To ensure maximum public involvement in the Srirangapatna Dasara 2025 festivities, authorities are making arrangements for additional bus services, Mr. Bandisidde Gowda announced. He extended a warm invitation to everyone, encouraging them to attend the Dasara events and the Cauvery Aarti in large numbers to make the celebration a resounding success.
Adding to the festive spirit, the enchanting Brindavan Gardens were illuminated on Monday evening. This special lighting is a highlight of both Mysuru Dasara and Srirangapatna Dasara, with the inauguration attended by Dinesh Gooli Gowda, Vice-President of the State Guarantee Programs Implementation Authority, Ram Prasath Manohar, Chairperson of the Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), and other senior officials from the Mandya district administration.
Srirangapatna Dasara Highlights
Further details on the Srirangapatna Dasara included the announcement that renowned Kannada film director T S Nagabharana will flag off the traditional Jumboo Savari procession at Kirangur Bannimantap on September 25. On the very same day, Minister Cheluvarayaswamy will inaugurate the diverse cultural programs at Sriranga Vedike, situated within the sacred Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple premises.
During his inspection of Sriranga Vedike on Monday, Mr. Bandisidde Gowda expressed optimism, anticipating a crowd of approximately 7,000 spectators for the cultural spectacles. This year’s Srirangapatna Dasara is packed with special themed events, including Farmers’ Dasara, Literary and Cultural Dasara, a Dasara Exhibition, Children’s Dasara, Women’s Dasara, Youth Dasara, Sports Dasara, a Film Festival, Marathon, and Trekking.
The film festival, however, will be presented on a more intimate scale due to limited theatre availability, Mr. Bandisidde Gowda clarified.

For adventure enthusiasts, the Department of Youth Empowerment and Sports will organize an array of exciting water sports at Hotel Mayura River View.
