The Sri Sathya Sai District Police are all set to host a special ‘Police Martyrs Commemoration Week’ from October 21st to 31st, 2025. This dedicated period will feature a variety of programs designed to honor the immense sacrifices made by police personnel who bravely gave their lives in the line of duty.
During a press conference held on Sunday, October 19th, Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar highlighted that this annual event serves as a solemn tribute to the fallen heroes. It also aims to educate the public about the vital role police play in maintaining public safety and upholding law and order within the community.
The commemoration week will kick off on October 21st with a poignant Martyrs’ Memorial Parade and floral tributes at the district’s police martyrs’ memorial. From October 22nd to 30th, police teams will embark on visits to the ancestral villages of these martyrs, engaging with local residents and advocating for the dedication of public spaces or development projects in their honor.
Superintendent Kumar also detailed an array of activities for the public. Between October 24th and 27th, students and children of police officers will participate in essay, debate, and elocution contests focusing on crucial topics like cybercrime prevention and environmental protection. On October 26th, inspiring films showcasing police bravery will be screened, followed by ‘open house’ events on October 26th and 27th at police stations, where visitors can see police weaponry, investigation tools, and impressive dog squad demonstrations.
The week continues with medical camps and blood donation drives scheduled for October 28th, alongside seminars and cultural performances celebrating the spirit of police service and sacrifice on October 29th. On October 30th, families of the police martyrs will be honored in a special felicitation ceremony. The entire week will culminate on October 31st with a district-wide unity run and a heartfelt candlelight rally, bringing the community together in remembrance.
