The dedicated officers of the Sri Sathya Sai district police have delivered a decisive blow against criminal activity, announcing on Saturday the arrest of numerous individuals involved in a widespread network of thefts. Their meticulous investigations led to the successful recovery of stolen property exceeding ₹20 lakh in value, encompassing a variety of crimes from residential break-ins to the pilfering of vital infrastructure and sacred temple offerings across several regions.
During a press conference, Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar detailed the remarkable success of the operations. He highlighted the capture of Chakali Narasimha Murthy, a 30-year-old from Kallakunta village, who was responsible for a series of day and night residential burglaries across Kia, Roddam, Somandepalli, and surrounding police jurisdictions. Elite police teams managed to retrieve an impressive 100 grams of gold jewelry, valued at more than ₹12 lakh, alongside a stolen car worth ₹5 lakh, all linked to Murthy’s activities.
Furthermore, the Nallamada police successfully busted a six-member gang specializing in the theft of transformer coils from agricultural lands. This group operated across nine mandals, including Nallamada, Kadiri, and Amadaguru. Their coordinated efforts resulted in the confiscation of 657 kg of aluminum wire, estimated at ₹6 lakh, and the resolution of 22 cases involving a staggering 51 stolen transformers.
The Kadiri police also reported significant arrests, apprehending three perpetrators and an accomplice connected to five separate temple hundi (offering box) thefts. From these culprits, authorities recovered ₹1.16 lakh in cash and gold ornaments valued at ₹2.5 lakh, bringing a sense of relief to local communities.
