Police in Palakkad have confirmed the arrest of a man for allegedly strangling his wife to death. The incident occurred in Sreekrishnapuram, with the arrest taking place on Saturday, October 11, 2025.
The accused, identified as Deekshit, was taken into custody in connection with the tragic death of his wife, Vaishnavi. According to police reports, Deekshit reportedly confessed to suffocating Vaishnavi on the night of October 8, 2025. He claimed to have committed the act due to suspicions that his wife was involved in an affair with another man.
A postmortem examination conducted at the Government Medical College Hospital in Thrissur verified that strangulation was indeed the cause of death. Following the examination results, Deekshit provided a confession to the police, reiterating his suspicion of an extramarital affair as the reason for his actions. The couple had been married for under two years.
