In a remarkable display of athletic prowess, racehorses Shambala and Mojito truly excelled during their morning exercises on Monday, September 22nd, at the Pune track. Their impressive performance has certainly caught the attention of racing enthusiasts.
Inner Sand Track Workouts:
800m Trials: A number of horses put in solid efforts on the inner sand track. Cellini (ridden by Mosin) moved effortlessly, clocking 52 seconds for 800m and 37 for 600m. Baleno (Bhawani aboard) showed good form with times of 53s and 39s, respectively. Empower (T.S. Jodha) had an easy run at 54s for 800m and 39s for 600m. Luca (Ritesh) was slightly pushed to finish in 52s and 39s. Caliph (Bharat) demonstrated excellent speed, completing 800m in 49s and 600m in 36s. Skandha (T.S. Jodha) had a relaxed session, timing 57s and 42s. Desert Charm (Santosh) outpaced Sakana (Ramswarup) by three lengths, both completing 800m in 50s and 600m in 36s. Caccini (Bhawani) worked freely with times of 52s and 39s. Trail Blazer (N. Bhosale) impressed, clocking 50s and 37s, while Son Of A Gun (Mustakim) was pressed in the final stretch, finishing in 50s and 38s.
1000m Trials: Shambala (T.S. Jodha) delivered an outstanding performance, completing 1000m in 1 minute 2 seconds, with splits of 49s for 800m and 38s for 600m – a truly excellent workout. Ange Raphael (Ritesh) was pushed to finish in 1 minute 4 seconds, with 800m in 51s and 600m in 39s. Red Bishop (Kirtish) had an easy run, clocking 1 minute 12 seconds for 1000m and 44s for 600m. Kimiko (Bhawani) showcased good work, finishing 1000m in 1 minute 4 seconds, 800m in 50s, and 600m in 38s. Algonquin (N. Bhosale) led Jackson (Gore) by three lengths, both completing 1000m in 1 minute 4 seconds, 800m in 50s, and 600m in 38s. Dentetsu (Ritesh) was urged to finish strong, clocking 1 minute 5 seconds for 1000m, 49s for 800m, and 36s for 600m. Shubhankar (Bhawani) moved freely, timing 1 minute 6 seconds, 52s, and 39s respectively.
1400m Trial: Fontana (Pranil) demonstrated fluid motion over 1400m, finishing in 1 minute 37 seconds, with splits of 1-24 for 1200m, 1-11 for 1000m, 57s for 800m, and 43s for 600m.
Inner Sand Gate Practice:
1000m Gate Practice: The gate practice sessions saw some competitive runs. Opus Dei (Mosin) and You (Nazil) moved in unison, neck and neck, clocking 1 minute 4 seconds for 1000m, 50s for 800m, and 38s for 600m. However, Mojito (D.A. Naik) stole the show, moving with remarkable impressiveness to finish a significant distance ahead of Key West (P. Dhebe) and South Beach (Parmar), with an overall time of 1 minute 2 seconds for 1000m, 48s for 800m, and 37s for 600m. Silver Strike (Gore) was four lengths superior to Bravo Zulu (Merchant), both clocking 1 minute 4 seconds, 49s, and 37s. Jaisalmer (P. Vikram) was two lengths better than Red Mist (Ramswarup), with times of 1 minute 5 seconds, 51s, and 39s. Highground (P. Vikram) had a good break from the gates, finishing in 1 minute 4 seconds, 50s, and 38s.
Mock Race — September 21st: Race Track.
1200m Mock Race: In a mock race over 1200m, Eaton Square (S.J. Sunil) emerged victorious, clocking 1 minute 11 seconds with 600m in 36s. After being in fifth position until the bend, Eaton Square unleashed a powerful burst of speed to win by a commanding seven lengths, leaving Esteban (Umesh), Vegatha (Ajinkya), Ma Cherie (P. Vikram), Whisper (P. Vinod), Magical Moments (Nazil), and Break Point (Pranil) in its wake. The winning margins were 7, 1-1/4, and 3/4 lengths.
