In a significant move to further accelerate India’s energy efficiency and conservation drive, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture comprising Public Sector Undertakings under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has appointed A. Chandra Sekhara Reddy as its National Advisor for Government Affairs & Media.
With this appointment, Mr. Reddy is set to play a pivotal role in shaping EESL’s outreach and stakeholder engagement strategy. He will focus on strengthening its presence at both national and global forums, ensuring the organization’s mission of promoting sustainable energy practices is communicated effectively.
Mr. Reddy officially received his appointment letter on Friday, October 3, 2025, from Akhilesh Kumar Dixit, CEO of EESL. As National Advisor, he will be responsible for fostering widespread awareness about energy efficiency and conservation programs, thereby driving essential behavioral changes.
His role also includes coordinating with state-designated agencies and various stakeholders to implement national and international workshops. A key area of his focus will be Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), the flagship initiative championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at COP26, which advocates for sustainable lifestyles.
Additionally, Mr. Reddy will assist EESL in hosting global conferences on energy efficiency and advanced technologies. These events are planned for major metropolitan cities across India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Lucknow, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Thiruvananthapuram, with select international locations also in consideration.
Mr. Reddy brings an impressive three decades of distinguished service in the power sector, with a deep expertise in communication strategies. Before this role, he served as Media Adviser for the Southern States and Union Territories at the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). For over a decade, he also held the position of CEO at the Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (SECM), and prior to that, he worked for eight years in the Chief Minister’s Office of Andhra Pradesh until 2011.
