In a crucial announcement for the upcoming festive season, Sri Sathya Sai district’s Superintendent of Police, S. Satheesh Kumar, delivered a clear message on Saturday, October 18, 2025: stringent legal measures await anyone caught storing or selling firecrackers without a valid license or in breach of established safety regulations.
Addressing the media, the SP emphasized that only licensed vendors are permitted to sell fireworks, and these sales must strictly occur within designated areas. “Our police teams will be closely monitoring all firecracker outlets, ensuring absolute compliance with every safety standard,” he stated firmly.
Mr. Kumar further instructed vendors to equip every stall with essential firefighting tools, including readily available water and sand. He issued a stark warning: individuals involved in the illegal manufacturing, storage, or sale of fireworks will face immediate prosecution.
The Superintendent of Police also extended a heartfelt appeal to the community for a safe Deepavali celebration. He urged parents to exercise extreme caution and maintain constant supervision when children are handling firecrackers. Specifically, he advised against allowing children to light high-decibel or inherently dangerous crackers.
Finally, he encouraged residents to play an active role in community safety by reporting any instances of illegal firecracker sales or fire-related accidents. Such incidents can be reported by dialing “112” or “100,” or by directly contacting the nearest police station.
