A significant power upgrade is on the horizon for the Sarvepalli constituency! Former Minister and current MLA, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, has proudly announced the imminent rollout of robust three-phase electricity across the region. This ambitious transformation, spearheaded by the prestigious Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), is nearing its final stages, promising a brighter future for local residents.
During the recent inauguration of a state-of-the-art transformer repair shed in Podalakur on Sunday, October 26, 2025, Mr. Reddy shared an optimistic timeline, stating that the full transition to three-phase power would be completed within a couple of months. He passionately assured the community that “residents and especially our hardworking farmers will finally be free from the frustrating low voltage issues that have long plagued the single-phase system.” This upgrade marks a pivotal moment for enhanced quality of life and agricultural productivity.
Boosting Local Infrastructure with a New Transformer Hub
This innovative transformer repair facility, developed under a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model, is a game-changer. It boasts an impressive capacity to repair over 100 transformers every single month. Mr. Reddy highlighted the past struggles, recalling how the Sarvepalli constituency often faced severe delays and inconvenience because damaged transformers had to be transported to distant repair centers in Nellore or Gudur.
Now, thanks to the Andhra Pradesh Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (APSPDCL) establishing this cutting-edge facility right within reach, the residents of Sarvepalli can truly ‘breathe easy,’ knowing that prompt and efficient service is available locally. The MLA emphasized that this new hub will serve a critical role, particularly benefiting the mandals of Kaluvoy, Manubolu, Rapur, Saidapuram, and Podalakur, ensuring a more resilient power grid for all.
