The influential Islamic scholarly organization, Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama, has strongly advocated for the Congress party to guarantee fair and proportional representation for all community groups, with a specific emphasis on Muslims, within its top leadership structure.
Beyond party leadership, Samastha has also called upon the Congress to actively work towards ensuring that the Muslim community receives adequate and proportionate representation in parliamentary roles.
These crucial demands were formally presented in a memorandum during a meeting between Congress general secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Samastha president Syed Jifri Muthukoya Thangal. The meeting took place at Thangal’s residence in Muthuvallur, near Kondotty, on Sunday evening.
Furthermore, Samastha urged the Congress to intervene decisively to address and eliminate the pervasive discrimination currently experienced by minority communities across various regions of the nation.
