Yadgir came alive on Sunday as hundreds of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) activists participated in a spirited march, commemorating the organization’s momentous centenary. The air buzzed with excitement as participants, all donning the traditional RSS uniform known as ‘Ganavesh,’ paraded through the city’s main thoroughfares.
The procession commenced from the City Municipal Council office, weaving its way through prominent landmarks such as Hattikuni Cross, Gandhi Circle, Veerashaiva Kalyan Mantap, and Kanaka Circle, before concluding at Wanakeri Layout. Along the route, Yadgir’s key roads were adorned with striking saffron flags and impressive welcome hoardings featuring the revered portraits of K.B. Hedgewar, the visionary founder of the RSS, and M.S. Golwalkar, its influential second sarsangchalak.
Activists of all ages marched with discipline and enthusiasm, each holding a stick in their left hand, a symbol of their commitment. Their powerful chants of ‘Mother India Zindabad’ resonated through the streets, met with an outpouring of support from onlookers who showered them with flowers.
Ensuring the smooth and secure execution of the event, the Police Department, under the vigilant supervision of Superintendent of Police Pruthvik Shankar, deployed extensive security measures. Traffic was carefully managed and diverted to alternative routes, allowing the celebratory march to proceed without incident.
