RJD Announces 143 Candidates for Bihar Elections, Tejashwi Yadav to Contest from Raghopur

The Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has officially announced its list of candidates for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, fielding a total of 143 contenders. Notably, party leader Tejashwi Yadav will be contesting from the Raghopur constituency. This announcement came on the last day for submitting nomination papers for the second and final phase of the elections.

In a significant move, the RJD has allocated tickets to 24 women candidates for this electoral cycle. The release of the candidate list also solidifies the seat-sharing arrangements within the Mahagathbandhan alliance. Under this agreement, the RJD will contest 143 seats, the Congress will field candidates in 61 constituencies, and CPI ML will compete in 20 seats.

In other election news, the Congress party has also released its candidate list, bringing their total to 60. Meanwhile, the BJP has finalized its candidates for all 101 seats allocated to them in the NDA’s seat-sharing agreement. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to commence his election campaign on October 24. Voting is set to take place on November 6 and 11, with the results to be declared on November 14.
