A remarkable initiative is underway in Nagarkurnool district, promising to transform educational access for rural students and communities. A total of 50 state-of-the-art digital libraries are slated for establishment, designed to significantly boost knowledge and awareness across the region.
This ambitious project, spearheaded by local Congress MP Mallu Ravi, has received enthusiastic backing. Nagarkurnool District Collector Badawat Santosh confirmed that the funding for these libraries will primarily come from Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) contributions. The vision includes setting up 50 digital libraries across the Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha constituency, encompassing Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, and Gadwal districts, with an estimated total cost of ₹1.2 crore. Notably, 29 of these innovative learning hubs will be concentrated within Nagarkurnool district itself.
Each individual library will be developed with an allocation of ₹2 lakh. The distribution of these facilities is planned carefully by constituency: Kalwakurthy is set to receive eight libraries, while Kollapur, Nagarkurnool, and Achampet will each benefit from seven. All 29 proposals for Nagarkurnool district have already been approved. Collector Santosh has urged officials to accelerate both land acquisition and construction, emphasizing the need to ensure all necessary infrastructure is put in place promptly. District Panchayat Officer Sriramulu has been entrusted with overseeing these efforts to ensure timely completion.
The District Collector highlighted the immense potential of these digital libraries, stating that they will provide rural students with unprecedented access to contemporary educational tools and resources. This initiative is expected to significantly broaden knowledge and foster a greater sense of awareness throughout the broader community.
