Approximately 2,500 employees from the Revenue Department in Thanjavur and Tiruvarur districts did not attend the Ungaludan Stalin grievance redressal camps on Friday.
Official sources confirmed that this widespread boycott was a collective decision by employee unions. Their primary contention is the impractical 45-day deadline imposed for resolving the majority of petitions submitted at these camps.
The protesting employees emphasized their demand for the immediate removal of this time limit, particularly for issues handled by the Revenue Department. They have vowed to continue their boycott until this crucial demand is met.
Despite the significant absence of revenue staff, the grievance camps proceeded as scheduled on Friday, with employees from other government departments stepping in to ensure their operation, according to informed sources.
