Speaking on September 19, 2025, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh proudly stated that through ‘Operation Sindoor,’ India demonstrated its powerful retaliatory capability against its enemies, especially after the abhorrent terror attack in Pahalgam.
He further highlighted that the exceptional coordination and bravery displayed by India’s armed forces during this operation solidify the belief that “victory is no longer an exception for us.” These remarks were made during his interaction with a distinguished group of 1965 war veterans.
Singh passionately declared, “We launched Operation Sindoor and showcased the incredible strength of our retaliation. The sheer coordination and courage of our teams have firmly established that victory is not merely an occasional triumph for us; it has become our habit. And this habit, we must steadfastly uphold.”
The minister also shared on social media a moment from his interaction with the 1965 war veterans on September 19, 2025.
Reflecting on the Pahalgam terror attack, the Defence Minister reiterated the government’s unwavering resolve to ensure that all those responsible for the heinous act face justice. He described the attack as an incident that “weighs heavily on our hearts,” shaking “all of us to the core,” yet he affirmed that it utterly failed to “break our morale.”
Singh emphasized that the Prime Minister has made it clear that terrorists would be taught an unforgettable lesson, beyond anything they could ever conceive.
Following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives, India initiated ‘Operation Sindoor’ on May 7. This operation precisely targeted terrorist infrastructure located in areas controlled by Pakistan. These strategic strikes led to four days of intense confrontations, culminating in an agreement on May 10 to halt further military actions.
Admitting India’s historical challenges, Mr. Singh noted that the nation hasn’t always been fortunate with its neighbors since gaining independence. “Various challenges have constantly presented themselves,” he acknowledged. “However, the unique spirit of Indians means we refuse to passively accept these challenges as destiny. Instead, we have diligently worked to forge our own path and shape our future.”
