In a significant development, Rajampet Member of Parliament P. Midhun Reddy, representing the YSRCP, was released from Rajahmundry Central Prison on Monday. His release comes after a 71-day period of incarceration stemming from his arrest in connection with Andhra Pradesh’s high-profile multi-crore liquor scandal.
Mr. Reddy, who is identified as accused number four in this ongoing case, was initially taken into custody by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on July 19. His bail was granted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Court in Vijayawada on Monday.
Confirming the development, S. Rahul, the Superintendent of Rajahmundry Central Prison, stated that “Mr. Midhun Reddy was released from the prison at 6 p.m. on Monday after being granted bail.”
