Excitement for the Women’s ODI World Cup fixture between India and Bangladesh was tempered by persistent rain in Navi Mumbai on October 26. Following a lengthy delay, officials confirmed that the match, initially scheduled for Sunday, October 24, 2025, would be reduced to 43 overs a side.
The revised playing conditions for this shortened encounter include a nine-over powerplay, with each bowler limited to a maximum of nine overs, adhering to the one-fifth rule for reduced-overs matches.
Having already secured their berth in the semifinals, India’s captain chose to bowl first. The Indian squad saw three strategic changes for this game: Uma Chetry, Radha Yadav, and Amanjot Kaur stepped in, replacing Richa Ghosh, Kranti Gaud, and Sneh Rana, who were rested.
While India looks ahead to the semifinals, Bangladesh has unfortunately been eliminated from the tournament. The toss itself was delayed by 35 minutes due to the inclement weather.
