He was pictured joining local fishermen in a pond, actively helping to pull a net from the water. The moment was met with enthusiastic chants of “Rahul Gandhi zindabad” from supporters present.
The Congress leader, dressed in his signature white t-shirt and black pants, was accompanied by other prominent figures of the Mahagathbandhan alliance. This included Mukesh Sahani, the chief of the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) and the alliance’s deputy chief minister candidate, who hails from the fishing community. Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar also joined Gandhi in his hometown, participating in the fishing activity and helping to pull the net, revealing the day’s catch. The event took place as Bihar gears up for its assembly elections, scheduled for November 6 and 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
In parallel, Gandhi also addressed political matters, criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He alleged that Modi is “remote-controlled” by large corporations and is easily influenced by international figures like US President Donald Trump. Gandhi drew a contrast with historical leaders, emphasizing that true strength lies not in appearance but in conviction and action, referencing Mahatma Gandhi’s resilience against the British Empire.
