Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has declared that his government is actively working to reshape the future of the state’s youth, focusing on equipping them to become entrepreneurs and job creators. This vision is being realized through a significant educational transformation, as highlighted during Mann’s interaction with students at the Shaheed Subedar Mewa Singh School of Eminence.
The Chief Minister emphasized that Punjab has entered a new phase of educational advancement, a revolution designed to prepare students for success in competitive environments and in life. This approach aims to harness the youthful energy of Punjab into productive channels, complementing efforts to create more employment opportunities within the state.
Launched in 2022, the “education revolution” is intended to help young Punjabis achieve their aspirations and reach new heights. Mann expressed disappointment over past educational policies that potentially hindered underprivileged children, stating that the current government’s “revolutionary” educational reforms are gaining national recognition.
A key component of this initiative is the establishment of 118 ‘Schools of Eminence’ across Punjab, backed by an investment of ₹231.74 crore. These institutions are seen as crucial for providing a brighter future for disadvantaged students, offering free uniforms and bus services, particularly for girls, to ensure equitable access to education.
The success of the ‘Schools of Eminence’ model is evident in the growing number of students from private schools seeking admission. Furthermore, these schools provide specialized coaching for competitive exams like NEET, JEE, and NIFT. Notably, many students from these and other government schools have achieved success, with significant numbers qualifying for JEE Mains, JEE Advanced, and NEET.
