The police force in Sri Sathya Sai district is making a strong push to enhance public safety, uphold law and order, and deliver prompt justice to those who have been wronged. During a press briefing held on Monday, September 29, 2025, Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar announced a significant new initiative. Police units throughout the district are now tasked with leading community-level awareness programs. These vital sessions aim to educate residents on critical issues such as crimes against women and children, including cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the dangers of child marriage, the prevalence of cyber fraud, and the complexities of domestic violence. Superintendent Kumar emphasized that officers have also been instructed to increase their presence through ‘visible policing’ on major roads. Furthermore, police personnel at the circle level will conduct regular inspections at border police stations, focusing on proactive strategies to prevent crime. He highlighted the importance of widely promoting emergency helplines: Dial 112 for immediate police assistance, 1098 for child-related concerns, 181 for domestic violence support, 1091 for addressing women’s harassment, and the toll-free number 1930 for reporting cybercrimes. The Superintendent also affirmed the police’s dedication to seriously addressing all grievances received through the Public Grievances Redressal System, both at the district headquarters and across all sub-divisions. On the same Monday, the District Police Office (DPO) alone processed approximately 70 petitions covering a wide range of issues, from family disputes and land conflicts to fraud, forgery, and financial dealings. Mr. Kumar reiterated the police’s unwavering commitment to ensuring swift justice and building trust within the community.
