Following a devastating fire at the Sawai Man Singh Hospital’s Trauma Centre in Jaipur, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has urgently called upon the Rajasthan government. She appealed for swift and thorough investigations into the incident, alongside adequate compensation for the grieving families affected by the tragedy.
Expressing profound sorrow, the Congress general secretary described the news of multiple patient deaths in the Jaipur government hospital’s trauma center fire as ‘extremely heart-wrenching.’
“May God grant peace to the departed souls. My deepest condolences go out to the bereaved families, and I pray for the swift recovery of those injured,” Ms. Vadra shared in a heartfelt message.
She emphasized, “I urge the state government to provide proper compensation to the affected families, conduct a prompt inquiry into this incident, and implement stringent measures to prevent such a tragedy from ever happening again.”
The horrific incident saw a massive fire engulf the neuro ICU of Jaipur’s state-run Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital late Monday night, resulting in the deaths of six critically ill patients, according to official reports.
Dr. Anurag Dakhad, the trauma center in-charge, confirmed that eleven patients were receiving care in the ICU when the blaze, believed to have originated from a short circuit in a storage area, erupted around midnight.
