President Droupadi Murmu recently arrived in Mathura for a spiritual day-long visit, traveling in ultimate comfort aboard the magnificent Maharaja Express train. This luxurious special train, equipped with a Presidential suite, deluxe suites, elegant restaurants, and comfortable lounges, ensured a regal journey for the President and her accompanying staff.
The President’s special train pulled into Vrindavan Road railway station. Her schedule is dedicated to profound spiritual engagements, including offering prayers at the revered Shri Banke Bihari and the ancient Kubja Krishna temples.
A statement from the President’s office outlined her busy itinerary, highlighting a series of visits to prominent holy destinations. Her day in Vrindavan involves performing ‘darshan’ and ‘pooja’ at Shri Banke Bihari Temple, Nidhivan, and Kubja Krishna Mandir. Later, she will visit Sudama Kuti in Vrindavan and offer prayers at the sacred Shri Krishna Janmsthan in Mathura.
Upon her arrival, District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh, alongside Minister for Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, Mayor Vinod Kumar Agarwal, and other senior administrative and police officials, extended a warm welcome to President Murmu.
A particularly significant ‘maha aarti’ (grand prayer ceremony) is planned at the 500-year-old Kubja Krishna Temple. A temple priest shared that these prayers would be dedicated to fostering world peace and praying for the well-being of those grappling with critical illnesses.
Given the high-profile nature of the visit, security measures across the city have been significantly ramped up. More than 4,000 police personnel and officers are on duty, supported by eight companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and elite ATS commandos. Central security agencies are also actively involved, and a strict no-fly zone has been imposed over Mathura.
Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar affirmed the vigilance, stating, “We are closely monitoring social media, and any suspicious activities will be immediately reported and addressed.”
To ensure smooth passage for the presidential convoy, traffic routes have been strategically diverted. Additionally, Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which prohibits gatherings of five or more individuals, remains actively enforced throughout the city.
The President’s special train is scheduled to depart from Mathura Junction in the evening, concluding her impactful day of visits and returning to Delhi.
