President Droupadi Murmu recently emphasized the crucial need for young Indians to adopt and adapt to advanced technological skills. Speaking on Monday, September 29, 2025, she underscored this imperative as India continues its journey towards technology-driven growth.
During her address to the probationers of the Indian Skill Development Service (ISDS) at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi, President Murmu stated that both skill and knowledge are the foundational pillars of economic prosperity and societal advancement for any nation.
She highlighted that countries investing in a highly skilled workforce are significantly better positioned to tackle global challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities across various development sectors. “As India advances on its path of technology-driven growth, it is crucial that our youth embrace and adapt to advanced technological skills,” President Murmu affirmed.
The President stressed that these probationers would play a vital role in cultivating a robust, future-ready workforce for the nation. “Your contribution to establishing India as the Skill Capital of the World will be immense,” she added.
In addition to the ISDS, probationers from the Indian Statistical Service and Central Engineering Service were also present. Addressing the Indian Statistical Service probationers, Ms. Murmu underscored the paramount importance of measurable and quantifiable indicators for effective governance. She noted that sound policy formulation and implementation are directly dependent on accurate statistical analysis, a relevance that has grown exponentially in today’s data-driven landscape.
President Murmu observed that India has entered a transformative era of socio-economic and digital change. She explained that the increasing adoption of emerging technologies has substantially boosted transparency and efficiency in governance. These technological initiatives consistently generate data, empowering the government to make more informed and impactful decisions.
During her interaction with the Central Engineering Service probationers, President Murmu highlighted the instrumental role engineers play in driving a nation’s technological progress and economic growth. She urged them to be prepared for the challenges posed by an expanding knowledge base and rapidly evolving technologies. “With the government’s strong emphasis on large-scale infrastructure development, the engineering sector is poised for substantial growth,” the President stated, also emphasizing the critical need for sustainable development.
President Murmu concluded by urging the probationers from all three services to always prioritize the upliftment and progress of the most disadvantaged sections of society. She reminded them that their decisions, the values they uphold, and their dedication will profoundly impact the lives of countless individuals. “By serving with passion and integrity, you can contribute to building a more prosperous, resilient, and inclusive nation. Through your diligent efforts, you can ensure that India stands as a global model of strength and progress. I am confident that you will work with unwavering commitment and enthusiasm for an inclusive and developed India,” the President concluded.
