During a productive visit to New Delhi on Friday, September 19, 2025, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy engaged with top executives and representatives from various prominent companies. His mission was clear: to invite them to explore new avenues for investment and expand their existing operations within the burgeoning state of Telangana.
A highlight of these discussions was Amazon’s commitment, a company that already boasts its largest presence outside the USA in Telangana. The tech and retail behemoth revealed several significant initiatives. Firstly, Amazon pledged to vigorously promote its Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) sellers from Telangana on its platform, specifically focusing on boosting their export capabilities. Additionally, through its “Kalakar” program, Amazon will empower women entrepreneurs in Telangana by providing a robust platform to sell their diverse range of products.
Perhaps one of the most impactful announcements for the local workforce was Amazon’s collaboration with the State Government to establish 100 state-of-the-art relaxation centers for gig workers across Hyderabad. These thoughtfully designed hubs will offer essential amenities such as dedicated parking, mobile charging stations, and comfortable spaces for resting and taking short naps. Crucially, these facilities will be accessible to gig workers from all platforms, underscoring a broader commitment to worker welfare.
Beyond Amazon, other industry leaders also unveiled their plans for Telangana. Godrej announced a substantial investment of over ₹200 crore to construct a new dairy plant, dedicated to producing its popular Jersey Creme brand line. Similarly, Eli Lilly & Company, fresh off the inauguration of its Global Capability Centre in Hyderabad, confirmed its intention to establish a manufacturing facility in the state. The precise details regarding the scale of investment and operational scope for Eli Lilly’s new factory are anticipated to be officially revealed by the Chief Minister alongside Patrik Jonsson, Eli Lilly’s Senior Vice-President and President of Immunology, on October 6.
