In a significant crackdown on corruption, officials from the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Mahabubnagar range successfully apprehended a lineman of the Telangana State Southern Power Distribution Company Limited (TGSPDCL) on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. The official was caught red-handed in Nagarkurnool district while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹15,000.
The accused, identified as Thota Nagendra, who works in Machinoniapally village, Vangoor mandal, had reportedly demanded this sum from a complainant. The bribe was sought in exchange for the installation of a distribution transformer (DTR) in the complainant’s agricultural field, a crucial service for local farmers.
Following the meticulously planned trap, the bribe money was promptly recovered from Nagendra’s possession. He was subsequently arrested and presented before the special court for ACB cases located in Nampally, Hyderabad. A thorough investigation into the matter is currently underway.
