Bhyrappa. Just days before, on September 24, 2025, Bhyrappa had passed away at the age of 94. The Prime Minister used this platform to encourage the youth of the nation to delve into his literary treasures.
Prime Minister Modi shared a personal anecdote, stating, “Our nation recently bid farewell to the profound thinker and philosopher S.L. Bhyrappa. I was fortunate to have had personal interactions with him, engaging in deep and meaningful conversations on a variety of subjects on several occasions.”
Modi underscored the lasting legacy of the writer, adding, “Bhyrappa’s literary contributions will undoubtedly continue to inspire and shape the minds of the younger generation. Many of his acclaimed Kannada novels are readily available in various translated forms, making his wisdom accessible to a wider audience. Through his writings, he instilled in us the profound importance of taking pride in our rich roots and vibrant culture.”
