Raipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to grace Chhattisgarh’s silver jubilee celebration of its State Foundation Day (Rajyotsav 2025) on Saturday. During his visit, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for a significant array of development projects totaling an investment of ₹14,260 crore. Chhattisgarh, established on November 1, 2000, after being carved out of Madhya Pradesh, is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
According to official sources, the Prime Minister is expected to arrive in Raipur at 9:40 am. His first engagement will be at the Shri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. Here, he will interact with 2,500 children who have benefited from the ‘Gift of Life’ initiative, having undergone treatment for congenital heart diseases.
Later, at 10:45 am, PM Modi will inaugurate the ‘Shanti Shikhar’ at Brahma Kumaris, a new centre dedicated to spiritual learning and meditation. Following this, he will proceed to the newly constructed Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly in Nava Raipur to unveil a statue of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and officially inaugurate the new assembly building.
After addressing the attendees at the assembly building, the Prime Minister’s itinerary includes a visit to the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum in Nava Raipur around 1:30 pm. During this visit, he will launch the museum’s online portal and release the e-book ‘Aadi Shaurya’, which honors tribal freedom fighters. A horse-mounted statue of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh will also be unveiled.
The Prime Minister will then attend the Chhattisgarh Rajat Mahotsav, celebrating the state’s quarter-century milestone. Here, he will officially launch projects valued at over ₹14,260 crore. These initiatives span crucial sectors such as roads, industry, healthcare, and energy. Notably, the plan includes the establishment of 12 new Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) blocks across nine districts.
Key infrastructure projects include the foundation stone laying for a four-lane greenfield highway connecting Pathalgaon–Kunkuri to the Chhattisgarh–Jharkhand border. This ₹3,150 crore Bharatmala Project initiative will be managed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). Additionally, the foundation will be laid for upgrading NH-130D, a vital route connecting Bastar and Narayanpur districts to the Maharashtra border.
In the energy sector, PM Modi will inaugurate nine new power substations, collectively costing around ₹480 crore, in districts like Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Bemetara, Gariyaband, and Bastar. He will also inaugurate Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited’s new petroleum oil depot in Raipur, an over ₹460 crore facility with a capacity of 54,000 kilolitres for various fuels.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister will dedicate the 489-km Nagpur–Jharsuguda Natural Gas Pipeline, a project worth approximately ₹1,950 crore, which aims to connect 11 districts of Chhattisgarh to the national gas grid.
The development drive continues with the foundation stone laying for two Smart Industrial Areas – one in Janjgir–Champa district (Siladehi–Gatwa–Birra) and another in Rajnandgaon district (Bijletala). A dedicated Pharmaceutical Park is also planned for Sector 22, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.
In the healthcare and education sectors, foundation stones will be laid for five new government medical colleges in Manendragarh, Kabirdham, Janjgir–Champa, and Geedam (Dantewada). The Government Ayurveda College and Hospital in Bilaspur will also see its foundation stone laid.
