Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his warm wishes to the nation on the auspicious occasion of Dhanteras on Saturday. Sharing his sentiments on X, he conveyed heartfelt greetings, praying for everyone’s happiness, prosperity, and good health, and wished for abundant blessings from Lord Dhanvantari.
The Prime Minister’s message was echoed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who also conveyed greetings for happiness and prosperity. CM Yogi highlighted Dhanteras as a festival symbolizing both Dharma and Artha in Hindu tradition, marking the birth anniversary of Lord Dhanvantari, the deity of health. He expressed hope for Uttar Pradesh’s economic growth, emphasizing that good health is the foundation for happiness and prosperity.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla also extended Dhanteras greetings, encouraging citizens to embrace prosperity, harmony, and environmental protection. He wished for homes to be filled with opulence and radiance with the blessings of Mother Lakshmi, and for everyone to remain healthy and long-lived with the grace of Lord Dhanvantari. His message also emphasized the resolve for personal advancement, national glory, environmental protection, and social harmony.
Dhanteras, the first day of Diwali festivities, is dedicated to worshipping Lord Ganesha, Goddess Mahalakshmi, and Lord Kuber, the god of wealth. It is considered an auspicious day for new purchases. Lord Dhanvantari, the god of Ayurveda, is also revered on this day for his role in ridding humanity of ailments.
