Addressing naval personnel aboard INS Vikrant on Monday, October 20, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the exemplary coordination among India’s three military branches, which he stated was instrumental in compelling Pakistan’s surrender during Operation Sindoor.
He further lauded the unwavering bravery and resolve of the security forces, attributing to them the significant achievement of “eliminating Maoist terrorism” across the nation.
During his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that INS Vikrant represents more than just a warship; it stands as a powerful testament to the hard work, remarkable talent, profound impact, and steadfast commitment of 21st-century India.

The Prime Minister reiterated that INS Vikrant not only showcases the robust capabilities of India’s armed forces but also stands as a proud emblem of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ (self-reliant India).
He specifically highlighted how the exceptional coordination across the Army, Navy, and Air Force was the decisive factor that led to Pakistan’s surrender during Operation Sindoor.
Furthermore, Mr. Modi announced that India is on the verge of achieving complete freedom from Maoist violence, describing this imminent liberation as “knocking on our doors.”
He noted the significant progress made, citing a reduction in Maoist-affected districts from an alarming 125 to merely 11.
The Prime Minister expressed strong confidence in the police forces, stating, “While 90% success has been achieved, I’m confident that police forces will succeed in completely eliminating Maoist violence.”
Highlighting his government’s ambition to transform India into a leading global defense exporter, Mr. Modi proudly announced that Indian shipyards have constructed over 40 warships and submarines since 2014.
He further noted that the formidable Brahmos missile system instills apprehension in some quarters, and a growing number of countries are now expressing keen interest in acquiring these advanced missiles.
Reflecting on his experience, Mr. Modi shared, “The night spent yesterday on INS Vikrant is hard to put into words. I witnessed the immense energy and enthusiasm that filled you all. Seeing you sing patriotic songs yesterday, and the way you eloquently described Operation Sindoor through your songs, truly, no words can ever fully convey the profound experience a jawan feels standing on a battlefield.”
He concluded by expressing his deep gratitude, stating, “My Deepavali has been exceptionally special, as it was spent amongst you, the brave men and women of our Navy.”
