In light of severe weather warnings issued by the Meteorological Department regarding the impending Cyclone Montha, Palnadu District Collector Kritika Shukla has instructed all officials to implement stringent measures, ensuring zero loss of life or property.
During a teleconference held on Monday, October 27, the Collector urged district and mandal-level officers to maintain a state of high alert. Key directives included the immediate relocation of residents from dilapidated structures and low-lying areas to designated safe zones. She also stressed the critical importance of establishing round-the-clock control rooms at both district headquarters and mandal levels to continuously monitor the evolving situation.
Officials were further instructed to strictly prohibit public access to rivers, streams, and other water bodies, and to issue clear warnings against venturing outdoors during periods of heavy gales. Collector Shukla explicitly stated that all leaves for government personnel are canceled until the cyclone’s impact has fully subsided, mandating that every officer and employee remain at their respective headquarters to facilitate immediate emergency response.
Ms. Kritika Shukla concluded by appealing to both officials and the general public to remain vigilant and to actively cooperate with the administration’s efforts to minimize risks throughout Cyclone Montha’s landfall and its aftermath.
