In a highly anticipated clash at the ICC Women’s World Cup opener in Colombo on Thursday, October 2, 2025, Pakistan’s skipper Fatima Sana won the toss and elected for her team to bat first against Bangladesh.
Sana explained that her decision to bat first was a tactical one, based on her assessment of the wicket.
“This is a good pitch for batting,” Sana stated, expressing her hopes for a strong team performance. “Every team is tough in a World Cup, and we are ready for the challenge.”
