An individual from Odisha found himself behind bars on Wednesday after being apprehended by the Rangareddy Excise enforcement team. He was caught red-handed attempting to smuggle over 20 kilograms of ganja, estimated to be worth a staggering ₹11 lakh, into Hyderabad via a private bus.
The accused, identified as Nabhi Nayak, also known as Hari, had cleverly stashed the illicit substance across four separate bags, which were then hidden within the bus’s luggage compartment. He traveled on the very same bus, likely hoping to evade detection. However, acting on a crucial tip-off, Excise officers swiftly intercepted the vehicle near Ramoji Film City. A thorough inspection led to the discovery and seizure of precisely 20.6 kilograms of the contraband.

Authorities revealed that Nayak is no stranger to such offenses. He had previously been arrested by the Special Operation Team (SOT) in Raidurrgam for attempting to smuggle substantial quantities of ganja. Undeterred, he was once again trying to move the banned substance from Odisha to Hyderabad.
Following his apprehension, Nayak was transferred to the Hayathnagar excise station, where a comprehensive investigation into the matter is now underway.
