These measures are being put in place to ensure smooth movement and manage the large influx of tourists expected in the district during this period.
If you’re traveling from Udhagamandalam towards Mettupalayam, all vehicles will be rerouted via the scenic Kotagiri Road. For those arriving in Udhagamandalam by private buses and vans from Coonoor, your journey will halt at the Aavin junction in Thalayattimund. From there, tourists are strongly encouraged to utilize convenient circuit buses to explore the various attractions within the town.
Likewise, private buses arriving from Gudalur will be directed to stop at HPF, and those from Kotagiri will pause at Doddabetta. In both instances, visitors will be advised to use the dedicated circuit buses to reach popular tourist destinations. Furthermore, be advised that heavy vehicles, including trucks and lorries, will face a ban within Udhagamandalam, Coonoor, and Gudalur from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily during these dates.
